We all know brushing our teeth IS good, but what about brushing FOR good?

Australian Dental Foundation celebrated its inaugural Brush for Good Day by handing out 5,000 free toothbrushes in Rundle Mall. By supporting the inaugural Brush for Good Day and purchasing the Foundation’s new toothbrushes and toothpaste from selected retailers and dental clinics, you will support the charity’s work in schools, aged care, homeless shelters and the disability sector.

Minister for Health and Wellbeing Hon Chris Picton MP joined Foundation staff and volunteers to hand out toothbrushes.
“Brushing your teeth regularly using toothpaste is the number one way to prevent tooth decay and other dental diseases,” Minister Picton said.
“This is a great initiative to encourage everyone to brush their teeth twice a day.
“We can often forget about our oral health, but doing something as simple as brushing our teeth in the morning and at night can have lifelong benefits.”

Lord Mayor of Adelaide Dr Jane Lomax-Smith also dropped in to support the cause.

ADFi Chairman Dr Greg Miller said one in every four children under the age of 10 have untreated dental decay, “and this is something our charity works tirelessly to turn around”.
“Brush for Good Day reminds everyone that one of the best and simplest ways to improve oral health is to brush your teeth thoroughly twice a day, with a recommended toothbrush and toothpaste,” Dr Miller said.
“Every time you buy an Australian Dental Foundation toothbrush or a tube of our toothpaste, not only are you buying a product that has been developed and designed by Australian dentists, but you are also helping to fight dental disease throughout Australia and helping to make a child smile,” Dr Miller said.

ADFi is the country’s largest dental charity and Brush for Good will help in its mission to distribute 1 million toothbrushes by 2025. Started by an Adelaide team of volunteer dentists in 2015, the Foundation has grown rapidly to establish a national presence, clocking more than 40,000 hours of free dental checks and procedures.
